Enrollment Questions


What is PatientConnect?

PatientConnect is a personal health resource which will enable you to securely use the Internet to help manage and receive information about your health, 24 hours/day. It consists of portions of your electronic medical record.

In PatientConnect you can:

  • View your appointments
  • Communicate with your doctor's office by sending a secure message
  • Request a prescription renewal
  • View your lab results
  • View your allergy list
  • View your immunization records
  • View your medication list
  • View your surgeries and procedures

  • With PatientConnect you can also:

  • View the medical records of a parent or an adult family member who may need your involvement in their health care

  • What is the cost of PatientConnect?

    There is no charge to using PatientConnect.

    Who can sign up for PatientConnect?

    All patients, age 18 and older. You may also access the medical records of a parent, adult family member, or a child aged 11 and under with proper authorization.

    How do I register?

    To enroll, you may enroll online (see instructions here) or stop by any of the following locations: registration desks at most locations in Montana and Wyoming or the Hospital; admissions desk at North Big Horn Hospital District, Health Information Management (HIM) department next to the south end of the cafeteria. Registration is also available at the following healthcare facilities: Livingston Healthcare, Pioneer Medical Center, Beartooth Billings Clinic, Glendive Medical Center, Roundup Memorial Healthcare and North Big Horn Hospital (Wyoming).

    You must be age 18 or older, bring a valid photo ID, and must be present to register. Phone or online registration is not available.

    Viewing and Managing Records and Results


    What information can be accessed in PatientConnect?

    Your test results will be available automatically, generally within 2 - 3 days. Some results are only viewable after being reviewed by your provider. Tests currently unavailable in PatientConnect are X-ray images, EKGs, and MRIs.

  • Upcoming appointments (excluding Radiation Oncology and Endoscopy Appointments)
  • Secure messages to and from your doctor's office
  • Request a prescription renewal

  • Medical notes from your health care provider (for visits on/after 7/1/11)
  • Radiology results (for services on/after 6/17/14)

  • PatientConnect For My Family


    Can I view a family member's medical record in PatientConnect (e.g. my child, spouse, parent)?

    You may access the medical records of a parent or adult family member who may need your involvement in their health care. A parent or legal guardian may request medical record access to a child 11 years and under by visiting the Billings Clinic Hospital Medical Records department.

    After I Have Enrolled


    I forgot my password. What do I do?

    Call us at 877-621-8014. Privacy and technical issues prevent us from emailing your password to you.

    Where can I update my personal information (e.g., home address, e-mail or change my contact information)?

    If any account information is incorrect or has changed, please see a member of the registration areas at the participating locations to update your personal information.

    PatientConnect Mobile Application for iOS and Android


    How do I download the PatientConnect mobile application to my mobile device?

    The PatientConnect mobile application can be downloaded onto both iOS (Apple products) and Android mobile devices. Simply visit the App Store on your Apple device or the Google Play Store on your Android device. Use the search term "patientconnect" and follow the download instructions. The PatientConnect mobile application is free.

    Who do I contact for technical help with the PatientConnect mobile application?

    If you are having technical issues with the PatientConnect mobile application please call the Cerner Client Care Center at 877-621-8014.

    Is my information safe if I use the Patient Connect mobile application?

    PatientConnect uses the latest 128-bit SSL encryption technology with no caching to automatically encrypt your session with PatientConnect. All medical information is stored safely behind a firewall.

    Technical Questions


    How is PatientConnect secure?

    PatientConnect does not allow access to any protected health information or personally identifiable information as defined by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) to anyone other than the intended user.

    What is your Privacy Policy?

    We value our patients and are very careful in the way we safeguard personal health information. Our privacy notice describes our policies concerning health information and our commitment to protect the privacy of our patients.

    How does my computer need to be set up to use PatientConnect?

    You need access to a computer connected to the Internet. Use Internet Explorer 6.0 or newer.

    When I try to login, PatientConnect keeps telling me "login unsuccessful."

    Make sure your CapsLock key is not on. The password field is case sensitive. Make sure you do not enter extra spaces in either the PatientConnect or password boxes and try again. If you have forgotten your User ID or password, call 877-621-8014.

    When I was reviewing my records in PatientConnect, I was logged out. What happened?

    PatientConnect wants to protect your privacy. While logged into PatientConnect, if your keyboard remains idle for 20 minutes or more, you will be automatically logged out. Any information you have typed will be lost. We recommend that you do not leave your PatientConnect account open if called away. Always log out.
