Halloween Safety Tips

COSTUME SAFETY
• Make sure your costume and any accessories are fire-resistant
• Avoid masks that obstruct vision
• For trick-or-treaters, considering choosing light-colored costumes or
putting reflective tape on costumes and bags so they'll be easier to spot in the dark
• Be sure any makeup is nontoxic, and test it on a small area first
• Do not wear decorative contact lenses
DECORATION SAFETY
• Use battery-operated candles whenever possible
• Be sure not to overload electrical outlets when plugging in décor
• Keep steps and lawns clear of tripping hazards (like electrical cords
MOTORIST SAFETY
• Be especially alert during popular trick-or-treating hours
(typically 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.)
• Slow down in residential neighborhoods
• Enter and exit driveways slowly
• Turn your headlights on earlier
• Never drink and drive
TRICK-OR-TREATER SAFETY
• Accompany your children if they're under the age of 12
• Plan a route and return time with your older children
• Consider putting emergency identification on costumes
• Remind children not to eat homemade treats made by strangers
• Remind children not to enter strangers' homes or cars
• Examine all treats for choking hazards and tampering before
allowing children to eat them


Flu Shots for Children

November 1, 8, 15 & 22 from 1:00 - 4:00 call the clinic at 307 548-5201 schedule your children. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Informative Seminar on Bioidentical Hormone Pellet Therapy

Ageless Art Show and Silent Auction

The residents of New Horizons Care Center invited everyone to a night of fun and fundraising. November 16th, 7 - 9 p.m. at New Horizons Care Center Assisted Living. There will be opportunities to bid on your favorite art, enjoy fancy hors d'oeuvres and you wear your fancy clothes with your worse shoes you be entered into a drawing a $50 gift certificate to the Brandin' Iron

Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy

Now offered at North Big Horn Hospital Clinic in Lovell. Both Ken Ferbrache, PA-C and Kelly Kolar, PA-C are certified providers of this amazing service. Call the clinic to discuss what it can do for you. 307 548-5201.

3D Mammography

We are exciting to be the first in our area to offer 3D mammography! Self referrals, for those over 40, are available. Call our Radiology Department at 307 548-5245.

Care Givers Support Group

Meets the 3rd Tuesday of every month in the Family Dining Room of New Horizons Care Center at 10 a.m. October 15th, November 19th and December 17th are the next dates. Contact Hiedi Christensen, RN 307 548-5225 for more information. All care givers are welcome.

Coat Drive

The annual community coat drive is now going on. Please drop of new, or gently used clean children and adult coats at the Lovell Area Chamber of Commerce, North Big Horn Hospital, New Horizons Care Center, North Big Horn Hospital Clinic, Lovell Elementary, Middle or High School or Rocky Mountain Elementary or Middle/High School. Coat are available for those in need at the Lovell Area Chamber of Commerce for those in need from 9:00 - 1:00 Monday - Friday.

Infusion Services

Chemotherapy, biotherapy and other services are offered from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday in Lovell. Contact an Infusion Services nurse at 307 548-5685 for more information. Chemotherapy provided by those who know you.

Sleep Studies

Our sleep lab in Lovell can often perform a sleep study within a few weeks of your referral. Contact your healthcare provider to discuss if a sleep study could benefit you. Or contact our sleep lab at 307 548-5238.

1st Aid & CPR Classes

Heartsaver CPR & 1st Aid classes are usually held monthly at New Horizons Care Center. The next classes will November 20 & December 18. Call Nick Lewis 307 548-5284 to register. The next BLS (CPR for Healthcare Providers)will be 2, November 6 and December 4.

Hometown Healthy Living

Weekly wellness lab testing at North Big Horn Hospital
7 a.m. to 10 a.m. every Tuesday. Call 307 548-5200 for information

Home Respiratory Services

Our respiratory department is ready to meet all your needs for Oxygen and CPAP supplies, call 307 548-5238, Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. 24-hour emergency call, "Excellent Care Close to Home."

New Horizons Care Center Gift Shop

Check out all the new spring items and gifts at the gift shop that the volunteers run in the care center. The gift shop is usually open Monday - Friday, 9:30 - 3:30.

Gift Shop Volunteers annual Bake Sale and Soup & Pie Luncheon

Friday, October 25th at New Horizons Care Center, 9:00 - 1:00. The best soup and goodies in town.

Stroke Support Group

Our Stroke Support Group meets the first Thursday of the month in Physical Therapy. November 7 and December 5 are the next meeting dates. Call the Physical Therapy Department at 307 548-5232 for more information.

North Big Horn Hospital Clinic is open Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to noon, please call 307 548-5201 for appointments. New spring items are arriving.



Diabetes Support

The Diabetes Support group meets at 1:00, at the Lovell Senior Center the Wednesday of each month. November 6th - Healthy coping, December 4th - Reducing diabetes related risks and January 8th - Health eating. Contact Hiedi Christensen, RN for more information at 307 548-5225.

North Big Horn Hospital also offers FREE Blood Pressure Checks at the hospital nurse's station at any time.


Centralized Registration

For all Outpatient Services, including Laboratory, Radiology and Therapies in the new North Big Horn Hospital Clinic. The parking lot can be accessed from Nevada Avenue.

North Big Horn Hospital District has recently developed a web site and is providing many sources for health information and programming. As you can see this is something that will be very useful to our patients, their families and those who may want to know what kinds of services or facilities we have. There are also many other features we hope you will explore.
