Sun Safety

Protect Yourself and Your Family All Year Round

  1. Do not sunbathe.
  2. Avoid unnecessary sun exposure, especially between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., the peak hours for harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation.
  3. When outdoors, use sunscreens rated SPF 15 or higher.  Apply them liberally, uniformly, and frequently.
  4. When exposed to sunlight, wear protective clothing such as long pants, long-sleeved shirts, broad-brimmed hats, and UV-protective sunglasses.
  5. Stay away from artificial tanning devices.
  6. Teach your children good sun protection habits at an early age: The damage that leads to adult skin cancers starts in childhood.
  7. Examine your skin head to toe at least once every three months.

Rooms

You can choose a private room, semi-private room or a suite as available. The private rooms and suites are large and have their own bathrooms. The suites are big enough for a couple to reside in (they are each charged a semi-private rate). The semi-private rooms are designed to provide maximum privacy for each resident. A solid dividing wall separates the rooms and only the bathroom is shared. Each room in the facility has its own window and door, which gives the resident more freedom and control over their environment.

E-mail account for Residents

We have an e-mail address for residents at the New Horizons Care Center.  Families and friends are encouraged to send pictures, letters or just short notes via e-mail to our residents.  Each e-mail needs to have the resident’s name in the subject line. These e-mails are printed every morning (Monday through Friday) and distributed during the daily mail pass.  The e-mail address is: nhccstars@yahoo.com.  This is a great way for busy families to stay in contact with residents.  And the residents enjoy receiving "mail".

Assisted Living
The Assisted Living Unit is located on the first floor of New Horizons Care Center. This unit is licensed by the state of Wyoming and is staffed 24-hours a day by a Certified Nursing Assistant.
