NBHD and New Horizons Care Center Update

December 30, 2020 - North Big Hospital District administered its first Moderna COVID19 vaccinations today. A small group of staff were vaccination today during a trail clinic to verify our procedures. Next week vaccination of residents at New Horizons Care Center and staff will continue. As more vaccinations are received and a plan is developed for community vaccinations notifications will be made public.

New Horizons Care Center currently has ZERO COVID-19 positive residents! Of the 39 positive residents, 29 have recovered and unfortunately 10 have died. Of the 62 positive staff members six are currently out ill and six more are out on quarantine for exposure. There are four COVID-19 patients at North Big Horn Hospital currently.

CEO, Eric Connell said, "This is a critical time for our community to follow the CDC safety guidelines including hand hygiene, limiting social gatherings, and wearing face coverings. North Big Horn Hospital District has an exceptional staff ready to care for our community but is concerned about the number of cases we are seeing and the impact on our hospital."

If your symptoms are severe, including shortness of breath, altered mental status or severe headache, please call the hospital at 307-548-5200 and advise them that you will be coming into the ER.
