RN Care Center
JOB SUMMARY: The registered nurse in this facility will be accountable to plan, coordinate, administer or supervise nursing care given by others, and to evaluate outcomes to the patients within the clinical areas of this facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIILITIES:
1. Maintain knowledge and technical skills to provide nursing care in various hospital specialty areas: ER/out patient, ICU/CCU, Med-surg, pediatrics, and long-term care, OR, PACU.
2. Have knowledge of patient’s diagnoses and medical regime and have the ability to coordinate nursing care with medical care, assisting and cooperating with the medical providers to give high quality care.
3. Have an understanding of and ability to perform care and to record on care plans and charts, the basic nursing process, observation and assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning of patient care, implementation of care plans, and evaluation of results.
4. Assure for the provision of pertinent health education to patients, their significant others, and ancillary hospital personnel as needed.
5. Be ready and able to make and implement appropriate decisions regarding changes in patient’s condition necessitating rapid communication of information to the medical provider or other staff as needed.
6. Have a supportive interest in the physical, biological, psychological, social, and spiritual welfare of each patient by effectively utilizing an interdisciplinary approach to alleviate problems as noted in any area.
7. Directly administer nursing care including all treatments and medications or be responsible in providing direction to support nursing staff as they provide patient care within the scope of their job descriptions.
8. Have a knowledge of hospital policies and procedures and a commitment to adhere to them, thus protecting the overall welfare of the patient and of this facility.
9. Actively participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities of the hospital nursing department to provide quality care to all individuals who seek our services.
10. Assist with scheduling and staffing changes as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Shall have authority as granted by the immediate supervisor in specific shifts that are covered by this RN and as allowed by facility policy.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be able to perform assigned duties and responsibilities.
2. Must have a current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Wyoming.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
1. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
● The employee is expected to be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers of this facility.
● The employee is expected to have and to effectively use human relation skills.
● The employee is expected to have a general working knowledge of, and an ability to operate medical devices normally used in the nursing care of patients.

The employee must have good time management skills, enabling them to complete tasks in a timely manner.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
● The employee must have visual acuity with or without correction to enable them to see close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
● The employee must have hearing ability with or without correction to meet patient’s needs and to interact normally with patients, and other internal and external customers.
● The employee must have manual dexterity to operate medical devices and to provide expected bedside cares for patients.
● The employee must have emotional stability to enable them to work under pressure and in stressful situations.
● The employee must have the physical stamina to work for long hours in physically challenging situations. The work expected of the individual will include sitting, standing, walking, reaching, pulling, pushing, stooping, bending, crouching, and grasping. Employee must regularly lift and or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. There is a risk of environmental exposure to communicable diseases.
